I went to my bank to ask about mortgages since my dad told me that a lot of times local banks have better rates than national companies or companies that are based far away. However, how do I know if the rate the bank told me is good or not? Is there somewhere I can go on the internet to find out what the current rates are that are being offered by other companies? Would mortgage services websites post this information on their websites? Maybe then I could choose a couple and give them more complete information to get a more accurate rate from them.
