oSiK asked:

I have always been interested in the stock market and how it works, and I believe that I am not old enough and mature enough to invest. I have had a $8 an hour job for about a year now, so i have a good amount of money to start with. But where should I start? How much money should I put at risk for my first time? Where can I find a good source to learn even more about investing? Thanks in advance.

My husband died. He left no insurance. I am afraid I must sell our mutual funds. Anyone that is in that field want to venture a guess as to what percentage I will lose? Thanks

Is it wise to invest in life insurance and mutual funds?

NB asked:

I’m 25 and I don’t have a family yet, but will eventually. My job is kinda stable at the moment. Should I purchase life insurance and mutual funds NOW to lock in the low price so I will build up more money in the future for my family? What are the risks?
What other options should I take, like IRA, roth IRA, 401k stuff? (I don’t know what they mean yet, if you could sum them up for me, that’d help) And what are their risks?

SOUTH LAKE asked:

I own 7 different mutual funds . During the past 5 years , all of them outperformed the S & P 500 and this includes the 2008 crash . However , they include 70 % international , 30 % domestic . They consist of 98 % equities . The international is approximately 80 % large cap established markets of Europe and Japan and 20 % emerging markets like India , China and Brazil . My retirement goal is 20 years away .

I’m thinking about investing in stocks and bonds but I don’t know the first step to take in investing in one. Do I go through a broker? How do I find one? How do I find one that won’t jip me out of money?
