Credit recovery

Friday, October 10th, 2008

The moment that I dreaded for the last three years had finally come. My old truck had finally gone passed the stage that it could be repaired and I would need to look around to find a new one. Why I feared the moment was that a few years ago my business had gone through a really bad patch, work was very thin, and my cash flow was a disaster. It didn’t take long before the bank was calling me up and checks were being returned. I knew that I had seriously dented my credit score and it would take a long time to make it right. Things in the business picked up and as if sensing our vulnerability, the old truck seemed to potter on for ever, from running repair to running repair, till one day it just seemed to seize up and die. I told myself, “What have I got to lose” and gave a local credit repair company a call. I was delighted to discover a couple of day later that that my credit was good for a loan to buy a used truck. I spoke to my bank manager, and he was happy to see me and to set me up with finance.

Christian Debt Relief and Identity Theft

Friday, September 5th, 2008

As you may be aware, it is impossible to control the ability of people to say they are christian debt relief counselors.  In some cases, you may find that these websites are actually owned by individuals that are mainly interested in obtaining your social security number, and other sensitive information.  Unfortunately, this can leave you open to identity theft.  As with many other things, people can and will try to allay your natural suspicions by trying to hide behind a spiritual facade.  Therefore, before signing on with consumer debt management counselors, it is crucial to make sure that they are a legitimate agency for debt counseling.  At the same time,  you may also want to try and find out whether or not there is a recognized member of the clergy involved with the agency.

How Do I Know If The Rate Is Good?

Wednesday, August 13th, 2008

I went to my bank to ask about mortgages since my dad told me that a lot of times local banks have better rates than national companies or companies that are based far away. However, how do I know if the rate the bank told me is good or not? Is there somewhere I can go on the internet to find out what the current rates are that are being offered by other companies? Would mortgage services websites post this information on their websites? Maybe then I could choose a couple and give them more complete information to get a more accurate rate from them.
