Due to the nature of their businesses; day labor with cash payments, it will be a while before the average wage offered is below market equilibrium. Unemployment is high, but most Americans can collect benefits for over six months, and even then, for most skilled labor the cost of not working and looking for a job is cheaper than working for day-laborer wages.
