Well since the banks aren’t lending, Donald Trump can’t borrow the hundreds of millions of dollars he needs for a project he’s working on in Chicago. (Saw that on an interview this morning).

I would imagine that Gates might see a reduction in software sales.

All in all, I doubt that they’ll starve.

Recessions don’t hurt the very rich. They are still able to invest in ways that their wealth still grows. For example, Warren Buffet bought up a ton of the sub-prime mortgage paper, toxic stuff, knowing that he would live long enough to see it be worth much more than it currently is. The middle class and poor are unable to make these long term investments.

Warren Buffet owns a big part of American Express which as you must have noticed became a bank (right after the bailout)that issues credit (and Paulson just said they are trying to get the money to consumer credit lenders) So Buffet will receive lots of our money. Buffet is the wealthiest man in the world and he supported Obama, and Obama supports the bailouts.

Sometimes party has little or less to do with who is who.
It is Obama that is as much for the Global elite as Bush was.

Trump gains nothing from the bailouts and was against them. He would have rather seen the markets correct themselves and he is correct. He is not really any part of the Global Elite. Gates may be another matter, but Gates is odd to begin with in his personal/family beliefs.

They’ve got plenty of money stored in real estate and other secure holdings so they’ll be fine I’m sure.
