      The immediate impact would be a drop in the average attendance at at games. Furthermore, merchandise sales and other luxury items would decline.

      It might make those loser fans stay home and do something meaningful with their lives.

      It may affect attendance, but people will spend money on entertainment while cutting other expenses.
      During the great depression movie attendance went up, not down.
